Jason Voorhees 1
Here was one of my first paintings, second one after Johnny Cash. I was never 100% happy with it but I am fond of it. My wife loves it. I tried to do a general portrait with it but it never turned out how I wanted. My second JV is more of what I wanted it to be like. I used an image from part 3 and fleshed it out. The eyes never turned out how I wanted and this was my first real attempt at perspective, which gladly has improved. This hangs in my bedroom to frighten the kids away and hasn't seen the light of day in regards to exhibits. I thought about trying to fix it but theres no need, it is what it is.
Im a bit of a Voorhees obsessive so there will be many more paintings of the maniac to come.
This is a small canvas(A4) and again acryllic.

Jason Voorhees 2
This is more like what I intended. This started out life as a completely different painting. It was an abstract side view of boobies. Coming up to the exhibition I took out all my paintings and the boobies one I thought could be improved. I spent hours on it to the point I was homicidal. If a painting is not working for me it can affect me for days, keep me from sleeping. This was a serious problem. After I got to the point of no return I decided enough was enough. I filled a pot with red(lovely blood red) and killed the image. Only appropriate that after this massacre that the image to replace it was a Voorhees.
Inspiration for this came from the retracted Jason loves NY poster for part 8(a poster that is better than the movie). I liked the hockey mask in this movie so it was decided.
Took me a few hours and from the start I knew it was going right.
I love this painting. Its very personal to me as my love for Friday the 13th is well known. I felt I had done JV justice with this piece. Its far from pic perfect but I love the feel of it. Most of the feedback I received from my exhibition was from this. People were drawn to it and felt very uncomfortable, 'its following me' was a common phrase used.
This will be the first in a series of Jason paintings I will be working on soon.
Jason rules!
